AAI to Invite Bids for City Side Development of 10 Non Metro Airports

The government is planning to invite bids for city side development of 10 non metro airports. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is currently in the process of land identification, which it hopes to complete by the end of November. Following this, the request for Quotation (RFQ) process is expected to begin by the following month.
The city side development involves development of hotels, shopping complex etc near the airports. This project is expected to cost around INR 1500 and AAI expects to gain revenues to the tune of INR 1200cr from private developers undertaking city-side development at the proposed 10 airports.
